Croydon Park Public School aims to provide a curriculum that is challenging and relevant and one that promotes the intellectual, moral, social, emotional and physical development of all students.  A comprehensive educational curriculum is offered, encompassing the six key learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Human Society and its Environment (HSIE), Creative Arts and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE). In all areas of study, students are encouraged to work co-operatively, respect the right of others to think differently than themselves, and to approach problems analytically.

In order to meet the specific learning requirements of all students, a number of specialised programmes operate within the school. The Reading Recovery programme assists students in year one who are experiencing difficulty mastering the fundamentals of reading. It is an intensive, one on one programme. A specially trained Reading Recovery teacher gives individual lessons each school day until the student shows achievement of their target reading level.

The English as a Second Language (ESL) programme assists students in years K-6 who are learning English for the first time or who do not speak English at home. Small group lessons are given weekly by a specially trained ESL teacher. First phase ESL lessons focus on teaching the survival language that students need to participate in classroom and playground activities. Second phase ESL lessons focus on teaching the academic and social vocabulary used both in school and in the wider community as well as the nuances of the English language.

A number of enrichment programmes are also offered at Croydon Park. Students are encouraged to participate in the school band, violin group, choir, JRock team, or chess team. At District level, students can participate in public speaking, literacy, numeracy and art camps. Students are also able to participate in inter-school sport competition by joining a PSSA netball, soccer, cricket or softball team.
